About Havre des Pas

Havre des Pas is a small but perfectly formed beach on the outskirts of St. Helier, which is overlooked by a number of beautiful period buildings and features its own original Victorian Bathing pool and lido. A day spent here is like stepping back into a summer holiday of times gone by.

The bathing pool fills up during every high tide, leaving behind a large safe place to swim when the tide once again retreats. Considering a very low tide in Jersey can mean the water is several hundred meters from the shore, the bathing pool makes a handy spot to take a cooling dip without venturing too far from your towel.

A number of bars, restaurants and hotels line the seafront promenade at Havre des pas so there’s never a problem to find some refreshment or a place to stop and seek shade from the sun. Once a year, usually in early August, the area is transformed for a two-day celebration of all things seaside, with beach games, musical performances, food stalls and a carnival atmosphere.

There are public car parks a short walk from the beach and pool, and the area is served by bus numbers 1 and 1a, with routes 2 and 16 also passing nearby.

Jersey has regular direct flights from most major uk cities and an increasing number of European cities such as Paris and Rotterdam. Flights from London take about 45 minutes.
Directions to the hotel from the airport:
Follow the main B36 passing the Aero Club to the roundabout. Turn right round the roundabout and down the A12, Beaumont Hill. At the filter in junction turn left along the A1 Esplanade to the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel take the right hand lane and turn left at the third exit into the B70 Green Street. Turn left at Havre Des Pas seafront and the Carlton Hotel is situated 100 m on the right. Directions to the hotel from the harbour - Follow the road from the ferry terminal to the first large roundabout. Take the third exit down an incline and move into the middle lane, which takes you into the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel take the right hand lane and turn left at the third exit into B70 Green Street. Turn left at Havre Des Pas seafront and the Marina Metro Hotel is situated 100 m on the right.
